School Based-SLP Job Description 

 

• Evaluate and diagnose articulation, feeding, language, and fluency disorders.

• Provide therapy and materials to address deficits.

• Communicate with parents about treatment in progress.

• Maintain and submit accurate records for insurance submission.

• Timely delivery of progress reports every nine weeks to be sent home with report cards.

• Author annual IEP goals and objectives based on assessment and progress results (as necessary).

• Participation in IEP meetings when necessary unless excused by parent or guardian.

• Serve as a member of the Pupil Appraisal Team for screenings, re-evaluations, and initial evaluations (as necessary). 

• Write reports using reader friendly index and explain to parents and students’ evaluation findings in clear, understandable language and cultural sensitivity. 

 

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduated of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program holding, at minimal, a bachelor’s degree.

• Must be licensed by the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (LBESPA).

• Full time or part time positions available. Supervision is available.
